Swim Route
The swim starts at Glorietta Bay Park on the San Diego Bay side and ends at Avenida Lunar, Gator Beach (before entering Navy SEAL territory). The swim has a total distance of 11.5 miles (18.5km).
We take the ebb tidal-flow out through the Bay and around Zuniga jetty, then 3 miles in open ocean straight to the finish.
The swim is tidal-flow current assisted for the initial 2/3 (8.5mi ; 13.6km), and after rounding the jetty it's 3 miles (5km) to the finish.
