All Great Swims Start With One Stroke…
The Mission of OWSA is to provide a safe and supportive environment for teaching and training aspiring open water swimmers of all ages and skill levels with the desire to experience the joys and adventures of ocean swimming, recreationally and competitively, and to learn from and swim with some of the world’s best.
OWSA is committed to promoting and expanding the sport of open water swimming among people of all ages and skill levels, competitive or non-competitive, and for anyone that wants to experience the exhilaration and joy of the open water!
Proceeds help support non-profit organizations, such as ‘Jacee For Kids’ (helping young people achieve their goals and live their passion, and committed to expanding the community of open water swimming for kids); and The Arch Academy, San Diego (an alternative school where “normalcy” is bashed aside and inspired thought begets inspired action! And the entire student body swims open water!)
OWSA has designed its programs to meet all levels of experience. Our curriculum is based on the best practices of open water coaching, techniques and training methods geared specifically to individual needs and goals.
Our system will take you where you want to go. Whether it’s getting in world-famous La Jolla Cove to explore the natural beauty of the Ecological Reserve or to compete in events, we’ll get you there. All with the direct guidance and supervision of men, women, and young people, who have done it and are doing it everyday.
Imagine being able to do this in one of the most beautiful spots in the world, under the guidance and support from world class open water swimmers; instructors who will teach you and explore with you the wonders of open water swimming. This is where it all starts, both for the recreational as well as the competitive swimmer.
